Legal Notice No. 081/SOMASI/RW/X/2026: Ainun Najib (English Edition)

Header illustration: somasi · legal notice involving Ainun Najib

This post summarises Somasi No. 081/SOMASI/RW/X/2026, a formal legal notice I sent on 7 October 2026 to Ainun Najib, whom I identify as the holder of the X account @ainunnajib and the member shown as "~ Ainun Najib" in a professional WhatsApp group of about 100 people. The account's profile location is Singapore, so the letter also sets out Singapore law and is copied to the Indonesian Embassy there. It is part of the Korika Part 2 series. It is a legal notice, not a police report, court filing or finding. He has not responded here, and I do not assert that he is guilty of any offence.

What the letter is about

The notice concerns four messages within about 28 minutes on 7 October 2026.

  1. Act 1 (7:59 PM, marked Forwarded): text saying a lawyer had been hired for me, that I had been reported to the police and would be summoned on Monday, that I had "already made a murder threat to other people", and that there was "one more victim, a woman".
  2. Act 2 (8:00 PM, Forwarded): "This person has disparaged the company and slandered."
  3. Act 3 (8:00 PM, Forwarded): "3 digits of rupiah so the matter is settled quickly."
  4. Act 4 (8:27 PM, his own reply): answering another member who wrote "that's really scary", he wrote "yes, a friend is already upset."

Evidence A-1: the three forwarded messages and a member's reply

Evidence A-2: the later exchange in the group

Forwarding is a deliberate act of publication

The "Forwarded" label shows that the words were first written elsewhere, and I cannot tell from a screenshot who wrote them. That does not make the forwarding passive. To send those words to about 100 people he had to choose to copy them and choose to post them under his own name, three times in a row. I treat that as his own act of publication: he adopted the allegation as his message, and he stood behind it when he added, in his own words, "yes, a friend is already upset." I do not claim he coined the text. I claim he published it knowingly, without checking, and that he answers for that.

My position

I never intended to threaten to kill anyone, and I was not summoned by the police on the Monday referred to in the text. I know of no such police report. The letter explains that I made a video in response to a Threads thread about me that had about 437,000 views, as a defence and to get that thread taken down. It accepts that others may read the video differently and leaves its legal assessment to the authorities. The letter does not ask him to stop truthful reporting. It asks for a police report number, summons date or other evidence if he has any. My only direct contact with him was a courteous LinkedIn message proposing collaboration.

Evidence C-1: the public X profile used to identify the account holder

Aggravating factors I cited

His account is verified with about 158,300 followers, so a statement from it travels further. The letter also refers to a 1 October 2023 post from the account, a GIF captioned "wanna watch the blacklist?", in a thread about a person fired from AWS. It states plainly that this post is not yet enough to show defamation on its own, and uses it only as pattern and context, with the right to file a complaint reserved. I learned of it in October 2026.

What I asked for

  • Delete the four messages for everyone while keeping archives and logs.
  • Post a clarification and apology in the group, pinned for at least 30 days.
  • Stop forwarding or mocking the allegation, including mocking references to the 2023 event.
  • Pay compensation for the harm, with a Singapore-law alternative.
  • State who he received the forwarded text from, and give written evidence or a written denial.

The deadline is Saturday, 10 October 2026, 09:00 WIB (10:00 Singapore time).

Legal basis I relied on

I wrote the letter myself, without a lawyer. It cites the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023): Arts. 433(2), 434, 436 and 441(1), Law No. 8 of 2016, and Civil Code Arts. 1365, 1366, 1372 and 1373. For Singapore it refers to the Protection from Harassment Act and the Penal Code, subject to confirmation by Singapore counsel. It states that extradition is a last resort whose outcome cannot be promised.

Limits of this record

  • This is my account and my legal reading; no court or authority has made a finding.
  • I do not know his nationality or the original author of the forwarded text.
  • The group name, dates and member list are to be completed from an official chat export.
  • I am not a lawyer, and this post is not legal advice.

Right of reply and correction

Ainun Najib is invited to respond, correct, or add context. A substantive reply may be published alongside this article, edited only for privacy, safety and relevance. If reliable evidence shows any statement here is wrong, including the identification of the account, I will correct it and note the change.
