Legal Notice No. 083/SOMASI/RW/X/2026: @justawkwardrani (English Edition)

This post summarises Somasi No. 083/SOMASI/RW/X/2026, a formal legal notice I sent on 7 October 2026 to the holder of the Threads account @justawkwardrani. It is part of the Korika Part 2 series. It is a legal notice, not a police report, court filing or finding. The account holder has not responded here, and I do not assert that they are guilty of any offence. I do not know their identity, so this post refers to the account only.

What the letter is about

On 17 September 2026 the account posted a thread to the jodohthreads community, with about 437,000 views, 3,900 likes, 735 replies, 237 reposts and 1,000 shares when I captured it. It was posted beneath a screenshot of my own self-introduction. The thread opens with: "Blocked by this person for giving advice to improve their EQ." It then lists, in my translation:

• that I was accepted at AWS but was still on a 3-month probation;
• that I shared a payslip despite it being confidential;
• that I was sent to Singapore for training with colleagues;
• that I did not perform, either arriving late or oversleeping;
• that the reason was pushing a suitcase to a friend's place at dawn;
• that I got angry at AWS and even badmouthed my teammates.

My position

I do not dispute that my 2023 dismissal was widely discussed. What I dispute is the detailed list above, which, as presented, I say is untrue and which cites no source. The letter points out that the poster describes being blocked, and reads that as showing a motive of retaliation. I have no personal, contractual or professional relationship with the account holder. The letter also says the thread refers to my emotional state ("EQ"), which matters because I am a person with a mental disability under Art. 4(1)(c) of Law No. 8 of 2016, a condition documented by medical personnel. The letter says they knew this, and invites a written denial.

The letter explains that I made a video in response to this thread, as a defence and to get it taken down. It accepts that others may read the video differently, leaves its legal assessment to the authorities, and does not ask anyone to stop truthful reporting.

Harm I described

Spread of the claims to hundreds of thousands of people, the 2023 event reattached to my name just as I introduced myself in a matchmaking community, psychological pressure, and legal handling costs.

What I asked for

• Delete the thread from public view, while keeping archives and logs.
• Publish a clarification and apology on the account, pinned for at least 30 days, stating that the six claims came without sources.
• Stop re-sharing the thread or its screenshots, and stop labelling my emotional state.
• Pay compensation for the harm.
• Provide written evidence for each claim and name their source, or deny in writing that the account is theirs.

The deadline is Saturday, 10 October 2026, 09:00 WIB.

Legal basis I relied on

I wrote the letter myself, without a lawyer. It cites the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023): Arts. 433(2), 434, 436 and 441(1), Law No. 8 of 2016, and Civil Code Arts. 1365, 1366, 1372 and 1373. It does not rely on Art. 27A of the ITE Law.
