Why Three ESCAPE Speakers Are Named in Complaint No. 068/ADUAN/RW/09/2026 (English Edition)

Case record: the ESCAPE speakers, named in Complaint No. 068/ADUAN/RW/09/2026

This post explains why I named Mr. Felix Siauw, Ms. Veren Ornela and Mr. Akhmad Steivano (known as Koiyo Cabe) together as reported parties T-4 in my public complaint to the Jakarta Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) dated 21 September 2026. It is my account, not a police finding or court judgment. I do not assert that any of them is guilty of any offence, and I do not say they did anything to me personally. The wider context is in the main post on Complaint No. 068.

Why I reported them

The only reason is that they are members of "ESCAPE" and were promoted as an attraction of a ticket I bought. The ticket was for "IdeaTalks Day 3 X ESCAPE OFF AIR" at IdeaFest 2026 (Evidence E-1 and E-2). The complaint uses this to raise possible fraud under Art. 492 of the new Criminal Code, with taking part under Art. 20(c), in connection with two ticket orders totalling about IDR 1.17 million.

My reasoning, as written in the complaint: I paid for an experience that included access to these speakers, I could not enjoy what I paid for, I say I was physically attacked at the event, and I received no refund. Whether the organisers or speakers never intended, or were never able, to deliver access and safety is, in the complaint's own words, an allegation that needs examination of the organisers and speakers.

Evidence E-1: the ESCAPE website listing its members

Evidence E-2: a public profile of Mr. Akhmad Steivano, known as Koiyocabe

How strong I think this is

Weak, and the complaint's own review rated it the same way. There is no written promise from any of them that I can point to, I had not asked for a refund, and the complaint does not show that any of them received money or benefit from my purchase. Being promoted as a speaker at a ticketed event does not by itself show an intent to deceive. I asked the police to look into their role in the promotion and whether they received any benefit, and nothing more.

Limits of this record

  • This is my account and my legal reading; no authority has made a finding.
  • None of the three is accused of the incident at the event, of any post about me, or of knowing about either.
  • The complaint does not show that any of them took part in selling the tickets.
  • I am not a lawyer, and this post is not legal advice.

Right of reply and correction

Mr. Felix Siauw, Ms. Veren Ornela and Mr. Akhmad Steivano are invited to respond, correct, or add context. A substantive reply may be published alongside this article, edited only for privacy, safety and relevance. If reliable evidence shows any statement here is wrong, I will correct it and note the change.
