Why Raymond Surya Chin Is Named in Complaint No. 068/ADUAN/RW/09/2026 (English Edition)
This post explains why I named Mr. Raymond Surya Chin as reported party T-2 in my public complaint to the Jakarta Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) dated 21 September 2026. It is my account, not a police finding or court judgment. I do not assert that he is guilty of any offence. The wider context is in the main post on Complaint No. 068.
Why I reported him
He is not named for anything I say he wrote about me. He is named because of the roles I attribute to him, which the complaint uses to ask for an examination of responsibility.
- Owner of the Discord community "Gen AI Labs". On 8 June 2026 he publicly posted the invitation link, and the server had 14,743 members (Evidence E-1 and E-2). I say that an administrator of this community removed me after learning of my disability, and I ask the police to look at how the community was run.
- Organiser of IdeaFest 2026. According to my statement, he organised the event at the Jakarta Convention Center, and he is listed as a member of the group "ESCAPE" that was promoted with it (Evidence E-3). I say I was choked at the event by an unknown person, and I bought tickets that I could not use as paid for.
- Tickets. I bought two ticket orders totalling about IDR 1.17 million. I allege that I could not enjoy what I paid for and received no refund.
What I said the law may cover
The complaint invokes corporate liability under Arts. 45 to 49 of the new Criminal Code, including responsibility of a person who gives orders or controls an organisation (Art. 47), and asks the police to identify the legal entity behind the community and the event. It also asks for an examination of whether he took part (Arts. 20 and 21) and raises fraud under Art. 492 in connection with the tickets, alongside other named parties.
How strong I think this is
Weak, and I say so. The complaint's own review rated the fraud and corporate claims as weak: the legal entity is unknown, there is no documented promise tied to him, I had not requested a refund, and Art. 48 needs evidence of a policy or of tolerating wrongdoing. His listed roles and the public invitation are what I can show.
